Meet your guide
Hi, I'm Alicia.
I'm the owner and lead trainer of Psyche K9 Behavioral Training. For over 10 years, I've shadowed and been mentored by tremendous canine behaviorists and trainers. It took years of simply watching canine body language and the rehabilitation process to find my own approach to the psychology of dogs.
I've trained on both sides of the dog training world. With thousands of dogs who share similar struggles, I've found that balanced training, with clear communication, structure and consistency, is the most effective way to help them.
Not every dog responds the same way, so cookie cutter training doesn't work. My goal is to give the people of the Treasure Valley every detail I've learned, and to help you build a healthy, dependable relationship with your dog.
The most important part of training is you. That's why every plan fits your life and what you and your dog need. My motto is "Dog Trainer On Speed Dial." It isn't fair for a trainer to leave you empty handed when a program ends, so my support is for a lifetime. I think of every client as family.
When I'm not in sessions, you'll find me co-leading Idaho Pack Walks and hosting Sunday Social, building a community where dogs communicate and humans learn.

A change in how I work
Why I don't do board and trains anymore
Your dog can learn everything with me and still come home to someone who can't read them.
The training was never the problem. The conversation was.
So I work with you and your dog together. You're the one they live with, and you're the one who needs to learn their language. Even on full training days, your dog comes home with you every night.
The big idea
Behavior isn't a problem to fix. It's a message to understand.
Most trainers sell control. I teach translation. Your dog is already telling you what they need. Once you can hear it, everything gets easier.
Body
What they show you
Ears, tail, weight, the way they stand. Small signals that come long before a bark or a lunge.
Energy
What they feel from you
Dogs read our tension before we notice it ourselves. Calm handlers make calm dogs.
Emotion
What sits underneath
Fear, frustration or overwhelm. When we answer the feeling, the behavior changes.
Your dog has been talking all along.
Stop guessing and walking on eggshells. Start with one session and hear what they've been saying.
