Sunday Social
Sit back. Observe. Step in when needed.
An off leash social at Idaho Pups & Ales where dogs interact, play, explore and communicate naturally, and you learn to read what they're saying.

Off leash play
Dogs arrive on leash, then play off leash inside the designated yard.
Observe
Learn to recognize communication, boundaries, play styles and body language.
Step in when needed
Our trainers watch the group and show you how to step in when an interaction needs guidance.
What is Sunday Social?
Dogs communicating, humans learning
Rather than constantly interrupting normal dog to dog communication, we give dogs room to work through social situations while Psyche K9 trainers watch their body language, play styles and boundaries. When something needs attention, that's when we step in.
You get to see what healthy communication between dogs actually looks like, learn when to step in, and grow more confident reading your own dog.
What should I expect?
Come hang out
Let your dog explore, meet other dog people, and enjoy the morning. Sunday Social is meant to feel social for the humans too.
You may see us redirect a dog, interrupt an interaction, create space, or explain what's happening between two dogs. Other times, we simply let the dogs be dogs.
What do I bring?
You, your dog and a leash
Seriously, that's it. Dogs come in and leave on leash. Everything else you usually need is provided by Idaho Pups & Ales.

Why we love it
Socialization is more than play
It's learning how to approach another dog, when to back off, how to respect boundaries, how to handle excitement, and sometimes how to simply coexist. It's relaxed, it's educational, it's community. And yes, it's really fun.

Questions
Sunday Social FAQ
Does my dog have to be a Psyche K9 client?
No! Sunday Social is open to the community.
Are the dogs off leash?
Yes. Dogs arrive and leave on leash, but once they're inside the designated yard, Sunday Social is off leash.
Is this a training class?
Not exactly. Sunday Social is about natural dog to dog interaction. Our trainers watch the group, let healthy communication happen, and step in when guidance is needed.
What if my dog only gets along with some dogs?
Being picky about dog friends is completely normal. Because Sunday Social is off leash, dogs do need to be able to safely share the space with others. If you're not sure how your dog will do, text us first and we'll help you decide.
What if my dog doesn't want to play?
That's perfectly fine. Some dogs prefer exploring, sniffing or just hanging out. We never force dogs to engage.
What if my dog gets overwhelmed or plays too rough?
Our trainers watch body language the whole time. If a dog gets overwhelmed or play stops being mutual, we step in, create space, or suggest a break.
Can puppies come?
Puppies can benefit a lot, but they need to be old enough, vaccinated, and comfortable off leash. Text us before bringing a puppy.
What if my dog has never been to a dog park?
Every dog starts somewhere, but Sunday Social isn't the best first off leash experience for every dog. Text us first and we'll talk it through.
Can I ask the trainers questions?
Of course! We love helping owners understand what they're seeing.
See you Sunday.
